PART-TIME BOARD SECRETARY – FIXED TERM

About us: 

Omataroa Rangitāiki No.2 is an Ahu Whenua Land Trust that has grown as an organisation to provide support for our shareholders. The Trust Board requires a Board Secretary who can provide high-level secretarial support in the key functions of coordination, recording and follow-up of Board meetings.

Position: Board Secretary

Hours: 15 hours per week

Location: Muriwai Drive, Whakatane 

Company: Omataroa Rangitāiki No. 2 Trust

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Key responsibilities: 

  • Maintain effective communication between Board and Management 
  • Preparation of Board materials ensuring board planner and relevant topics are included for discussion 
  • Ensure minutes are recorded, transcribed completed to a high standard and distributed for all meetings 
  • Monitor the progress of assigned action points 
  • Reporting of Board outcomes are accurate 
  • Ensure Board records and documents are maintained and preserved in accordance with quality standards 
  • Effective oversight of the Compliance and Policy needs of the Board 
  • Implement and manage efficient and effective systems to serve Board needs 
  • Scheduling, logistics, travel and preparing invitations for board meetings. 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a high-level Board secretary
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively 
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail 
  • Proactive in managing responsibilities 
  • Great communication skills
  • Knowledge of Te Reo me ona Tikanga desirable attribute
